Senator Ireti Kingibe Wins ADC Senatorial Primary Election In FCT

Senator Ireti Heebah Kingibe has been announced as the winner of the primary election conducted by the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the Federal Capital Territory as the 2027 general election draws nearer.

The current senator emerged after polling a total of 17,535 votes, defeating her only opponent, Mubarak Tijjani, who garnered only 806 votes.

Abubakar Adamu, the chairman and returning officer for the House of Representatives and Senatorial Primaries, hinted that Senator Kingibe is the winner of the primary election, as mentioned at the ADC secretariat in Abuja.

The exercise also produced two candidates for the party for the two House of Representatives seats in the FCT.

In the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, Bala Iyah emerged winner with 4,937 votes, ahead of Yahaya Fatima Goya, who polled 2,015 votes. Ma’aji Johnson Bello received 1,546 votes, while Ismaila Ishak Ozigi recorded 105 votes.

Ma’aji Johnson Bello earned a vote of 4,937 against his opponent Yahaya Fatima Goya, who only had 2,015 votes.

Alhassan Salihu secured the Abaji/Gwagwalada/Kwali/Kuje Federal Constituency ticket with a total vote of 9,016 edging Khalid A. Haruna who scored 2,955 votes.

The primary election was attended by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission, who were there for monitoring purposes.
