Popular Nigerian human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has decamped from the African Democratic Congress to become a member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

She also declared her intention to vie for the position of senator in the Federal Capital Territory during the 2027 general elections.

The #BringBackOurGirls campaigner stated on the X page that leaving the ADC was a result of a deeper understanding of the future of Nigeria and her continued political alignment with the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023, Peter Obi.

She revealed that the primary reason she joined the African Democratic Congress was her belief in the Anambra-born politician.

She continued by stating that her new political trajectory of joining the ADC is also because of Mr. Obi.
