Amaechi, Hayatu-Deen Reject ADC Presidential Primaries As Atiku Leads Early Results

Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen who are two leading presidential aspirants from the opposition party, African Democratic Congress (ADC) have disagreed with the primary being conducted by the party as collation of results across the states in Nigeria continues.

While this report is being filled, results have emanated from 10 of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The announced results show that the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was confidently topping the contest.

Results from Kebbi State confirmed Atiku is the leading aspirant with a total of 65,523 votes, topping Amaechi who polled 5,931, and Hayatu-Deen’s 454.

Atiku also recorded the lead in Anambra state with 58,566 votes, while Amaechi polled 17,085 and Hayatu-Deen secured 7,861 votes. The former Vice President also recorded similar faith in Ondo, Abia, and Ekiti States.

In Gombe, Atiku scored a massive 136,933 votes, far ahead of Amaechi’s 1,140 and Hayatu-Deen’s 455. In the FCT, Atiku polled 18,704, with Amaechi at 14,721 and Hayatu-Deen at 5,576.

He also had 18,704 in Abuja, the former Rivers State governor and minister for transportation polled 1,140 and Hayatu-Deen’s 455.

The Adamawa-born politician continued his lead in Nassarawa, Oyo, Yobe, and Imo State, further cementing his popularity and early advantage in the contest.
