
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after beating his lone opponent, Stanley Osifo, in the party’s primaries that happened across the nation.
President Tinubu secured a total of 10.99 million votes against his opponent, Stanley Osifo who polled only 16,504 votes across 8,809 wards in the country.
The results of the two candidates were announced at the ongoing collation of all the results at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
The collation of the results had notable persons including 31 state governors, party leaders, and collation officers, present results before the Pius Anyim-led presidential Primary Election Committee.
The president had a strong performance, coming first in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, while he recorded 100 percent of the votes in most of the wards where the election was conducted.
Osifo, pulled his strength in many states including Lagos, Abia, Niger, Kano, Oyo, Benue, and Nasarawa.
