Isa Ali Pantami has obtained his governorship nomination form to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The former minister had submitted the form to the party’s national headquarters in Abuja ahead of the coming 2027 gubernatorial election in Gombe State.

This is coming days after the party has given its support to Jamilu Gwamna as its consensus candidate in a stakeholders meeting that was led by Inuwa Yahaya.

The consensus meeting has led by Inuwa Yahaya was rejected by those loyal to the former minister popularly called Pantamiyya Movement.

The movement argued that the consensus as agreed by the party’s stakeholders does not align with the APC constitution and democratic principles.

Pantami who spoke in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service mentioned that he sees the consensus arrangement as a selection rather than a democratic primary and requested a direct primary that will provide all contestants a level playing ground.

The academic don revealed that he will fight against any form of injustice and give his support to any candidate who emerges through a transparent process.

As seen on Pantami’s official X Account shows that his loyalists and members of his support group submitted the nomination form on his behalf while appealing to his people to stay committed in preparation for the party’s primary in Gombe State.
