Abdulaziz Umar Ganduje, the eldest son of former governor of Kano State and former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, had picked the nomination form under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the position of federal House of Representatives.

The APC’s leader’s son will be representing the Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency if he secures the ticket and wins in the 2027 general election.

Despite the conflict between Ganduje and Kwankwaso, the young Ganduje has remained a strong member of the Kwankwasiyya movement and by extension a loyalist of his father’s political rival, Kwankwaso.

He was seen in a video footage capturing him with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso not long after he got the form, where he spoke about his political intention as the 2027 elections come closer.

This move adds to the enduring crisis between his father, Ganduje, and Kwankwaso who used to be close partners in Kano politics.

Abdulaziz Umar Ganduje has long revealed that he does not share the same political beliefs with his father.

The young Ganduje is now on a mission to win the same seat that his brother, Umar Ganduje, lost in the last general election.
