Nigerians React As Bayo Onanuga Labels Peter Obi A Soft Political Nomad For Leaving ADC

Bayo Onanuga took on the former Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, after the latter’s announcement of exiting the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Obi had formerly announced his plans in December 2025 to join the coalition-backed ADC as he became a member of the party on March 7 in his home state, Anambra.

He then confirmed today that he was no longer a member of the party competing following court cases issued against the party’s leadership, distrust, and division within the party.

Onanuga, in his reaction, described the Anambra-born politician as “a political nomad” and referred to him as a soft politician “made of jelly.”

He says the reason Obi decided to leave ADC was to avoid contesting the presidential slot against former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Onanuga also welcomed Peter Obi into the 2027 presidential race in his message, and a survey of respondents jubilated because to them it meant that Obi had outsmarted the opposition, who failed in stopping him from getting a ticket through party politics and division.
