Cam Skattebo, a rookie running back for the New York Giants, was taken off the pitch after he suffered a painful dislocation of his right ankle in Sunday's 38-20 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Skattebo sustained the injury when the second quarter had started, when his foot got under a defender while he was making an effort to get a pass. The game was immediately paused for the rookie running back to be taken off the pitch and escorted to a Philadelphia hospital, where he will be undergoing surgery on Sunday night. Players from his side and the other side were shocked about the injury, with Jaxson Dart, a Giants quarterback, looking distraught. Skattebo, who had recorded a goal earlier before the injury on an 18-yard touchdown reception, had been a key player in his team's offense, recording a total of five touchdowns this season and 410 rushing yards. In order to boost the team's confidence and ensure stability, the New York Giants will have to depend on Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy Jr. to fill the space that will be created by the absence of Skattebo, who will likely not be back in action till next year.
