Malik Tillman two goals for Bayer Leverkusen earned the team a seeded spot in the Champions League play-offs with a commanding 3-0 win against Villarreal in their final league-phase match.
Bayer Leverkusen started the game with only one point above Napoli in 25th position in the table but the team moved to 16th position in the 36-team table after the room, while already-eliminated Villarreal ended the season being on second from bottom.
Leverkusen earned its first goal after 12 minutes that the match started when Arnau Tenas, Villarreal goalkeeper insisted on a back pass giving the Tillman the opportunity to block his clearance and convert it into a goal.
After the first goal, the team’s attempt to achieve another hit the woodwork twice in quick succession before Tillman scored his second of the day in the 34th minute, sending home from the edge of the box after a lay-off Patrik Schick.
Bayer Leverkusen’s third goal and last goal of the day was netted by Alejandro Grimaldo sealing the victory as the second half commenced with a shot from close distance.
