Video: C. Ronaldo Crying After Morocco Takes Portugal Home in His Presumably Last World Cup Match

Cristiano Ronaldo was seen crying his way into the locker room after Morocco beat his home country, Portugal, taking them off the World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Morocco, the only country in Africa still competing for the World Cup had earlier defeated Spain 3-0. They are also the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.

En-Nesyri made good use of the historic pen via a well-placed header into Portugal’s net; after the goalkeeper, Diogo Costa, ran out in vain.

In what could be seen as a last-minute effort, Cristiano Ronaldo was brought in the 51st minute but failed to score a goal, or inspire his team to make good use of their chances; with Goncalo Ramos and Bernardo Silva blowing their shots.

Portuguese football manager, Fernando Santos had decided to bench C. Ronaldo after their match with South Korea, where he complained of the striker’s attitude.

Did Portugal Lost To Morocco Because Cristiano Ronaldo Was Benched

This has been the thoughts of many Portuguese fans. Perhaps, if Coach Santos had not benched C. Ronaldo and had brought him on time, or if he had played throughout the match, he might have had enough chances to score a goal.

Well, this is what the manager has to say;

“I don’t think so, no regrets. I think this was a team which played very well against Switzerland. Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, he came in when we thought it was necessary, so no regrets.”
