A former running back in the NFL, Adrian Peterson, was picked up by authorities in Sugar Land on Sunday morning due to driving while he was intoxicated and illegally possessing a weapon, as seen on jail records. Adrian Peterson, who is now 40 years old, was detained at about 9:30 in the morning, which makes it his second DWI arrest in 2025. The Associated Press, in its report, stated that in April, the former NFL star was picked up by officials and charged with driving while impaired in Minnesota after he was stopped for speeding after an NFL draft event that was hosted for the fans of the Vikings. No additional information has been made public by authorities about this latest arrest. Peterson resides in the Houston area. He was a very popular athlete in high school in East Texas before he ventured into the NFL, where he spent 15 years as a professional and became the MVP in the 2012 season after rushing for more than 2,000 yards. He was suspended by his former club Minnesota Vikings, in 2014, while he was there, after he was charged with child abuse, and was called back in 2015 after he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor reckless assault.
