Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal have made a staggering €100 million transfer offer to sign Barça star Raphinha, accompanied by a four-year deal worth $200 million, claims Sport.
The 27-year-old Brazilian was the driving force at Barcelona this season under the guidance of Hansi Flick, recording an astonishing 30 goals and 23 assists in 40 matches overall. His performances have made him the backbone of the club’s resurgence and fueled early speculation of a nomination for a 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Whereas Raphinha earlier rejected offers from Saudi teams to stay at Camp Nou, Al-Hilal is unfazed, now making a financial offer that is many times more than his current wages in Spain.
With the rich offer in place, there are indications that the player is not interested in leaving Barcelona. Raphinha and his family are reportedly well-established in Spain, and he is committed to pursuing top accolades in European football.
But negotiations to extend a contract with Barcelona have stalled. Raphinha’s contact with the La Liga giants will be over in the next two years, but he is said to still be among those key players who receive the lowest wages at the club. The disparity between what he produces and what he earns has become an issue.
The player is demanding a wage that more appropriately represents his worth, but Barça’s current financial struggles have led them to be reluctant to provide him with a substantial long-term pay increase.
With the negotiations at a standstill, Al-Hilal puts pressure upon the situation, although with current indications, Raphinha seems determined to stay.
