Bodo/Glimt performed a popular comeback win away to Atletico Madrid to book a slot in the knockout round play-offs of the Champions League.

Bodo/Glimt, the Norwegian champions, recently clinched a surprising victory against Manchester City, finished in 23rd place in the league stage, but did much to extend their stay in the league.

Atletico proceeds to move on track for a top-eight finish after a header from Alexander Sorloth through a cross that came from David Hancko 15 minutes later.

Not long after, Bodo/Glimt made a gallant response, making a tie from Fredrik Sjovold, who fired from a short distance after a smart cutback by Fredrik Andre Bjorkan.

The deciding goal came a moment before the hour mark as a quick reaction came from Kasper Waarts Hogh in a crowded penalty area to fire the winner past Jan Oblak, earning Bodo/Glimt their first-ever away victory this season in the tournament.

The win made a record, with Bodo/Glimt becoming the first Norwegian club to pass the group stage since Rosenborg, who last did it in 1996-97. The draw will happen on Friday.
