Malcolm Brogdon, a basketball star who signed a new deal with the New York Knicks last month, has made public his intention to retire from professional basketball. He is 32 years of age.
This announcement came as a surprise to his fans and those who pay attention to basketball, but Brogdon revealed that the decision was made “in peace and on my own terms.”
During his professional career, Brogdon, who was drafted in 2016 by the Milwaukee Bucks, did not wait long before displaying his talent, which earned him Rookie of the Year this same year in his first season at the club.
While Brogdon featured in the NBA, he played for several clubs, including the Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, Portland Trail Blazers, and Boston Celtics. In 2023, Brogdon received the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.
He was a victim of many injuries in recent years, which have significantly affected his playing time and performance. The injury restricted him to playing only 24 times in 2024-2025 for the Washington Wizards.
The veteran guard appreciated members of his family, his colleagues, and lovers all over the world, and he also mentioned in his farewell message that he will be out of the NBA with thanks and no regrets
