Paul Pierce’s NBA show ‘Speak’ on Fox Sports 1 has been cancelled along with other shows, after Fox made big changes due to a lack of engagement and low TV ratings.
‘Speak’ was cancelled alongside two other shows, ‘The Breakfast Ball’ with Craig Carton, Danny Parkins, and Mark Schlereth, and ‘The Facility’ with Emmanuel Acho, James Jones, Chase Daniel, and LeSean McCoy.
Popular FS1 TV host, Joy Taylor, who has been with the franchise for almost ten years, was also relieved of her contract.
Already in his new show, Pierce had started getting on some nerves.
A few days ago, he called out popular NBA star LeBron James for not including him when he talked about the most equipped scorer in NBA history. Pierce felt he was a huge part of the conversation since he had his fair share of awesome shots.
He also called himself arguably the best pure scorer in NBA history, even when he had the average height of most basketball players.
Although he praised Kevin Durant’s shots, he was quick to connect it to his height advantage as nobody was blocking his ball from that height, so of course he’ll get it into the basket.
The edit of that statement went viral on social media with many fans giving their opinions. However, it did not prompt them to watch his show as FS1 TV ratings remained down.
This is the second time Pierce has had his show cancelled after a controversial statement. ESPN also let him go after a controversial live video he did in 2024.
