Prison Frequenter Stabs Kills Female Ukrainian Refugee Inside Train Video

A black man with a frequent criminal and long prison record stabbed a white woman multiple times in the neck, brutally killing her, and people are not happy with the extent of media coverage it has received so far.

The gruesome murder happened over 2 weeks ago, inside a light-rail train in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was captured on a surveillance camera. It showed the woman, a 23-year-old refugee named Iryna Zarutska, who was seeking refuge in the United States, after fleeing her warring country, Ukraine, entering the train, and sitting in front of the documented criminal.

The red-hooded man on dreads, identified as 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr., who had been arrested 14 times and had a long history of living behind bars, without provocation or utterance with the woman, brought out a foldable knife and stabbed her many times on her neck.

The footage continued with Decarlos walking about on the train’s couch with blood dripping from his hands from a suspected injury he sustained during the attack.

The absence of an uproar in the train seemed to suggest that other passengers either did not notice the murder or, outrightly, did not care, as in the case of the woman who was raped inside a moving train while other passengers did nothing to help, stop, or at least call 911, but rather recorded with their phones.

Here is the full unblurred video that showed the entire attack. Poor Iryna was so much in shock and confusion as she stared up at her attacker with her mouth covered. She afterwards slumped down her seat as her pool of blood flowed out.

Decarlos successfully left the train without any apprehension. The “bystander effect”, according to the media, stems from the Democrats’ stance that seems to favour the pardoning and dampening of crime news from people of colour, to the endangerment of society.

Charlotte’s mayor, Vi Lyles, did not say anything about ensuring that the attacker is brought to justice, but instead thanked the media for not reposting the already heavily edited video that was circulating on social media.

The recent murder again brings to light the rate of homelessness in the United States and the high crime rate and drug abuse associated with it.

Decarlos Brown Jr. has a well-known criminal record, the longest being a 5-year prison term he served in 2014 for armed robbery. Five months earlier, he had also assaulted his sister in her home before his fatal encounter with the Ukrainian woman who worked at a pizza restaurant in Charlotte.

But Decarlos’s greatest stunt was reports of a GoFundMe set up for him because he was the “victim of a failed system”. However, the account was taken down by the platform, as reported by HT.

Though the news is only getting media attention now, with the release of the video, it actually happened on August 22, 2025, at around 10 pm.

While he has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, having made his first court appearance on Friday, August 29, many people are clamouring that he receive the death penalty, which is legal in the state.
