Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated during an appearance at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday afternoon. His scheduled appearance was part of his American Comeback Tour.
He was killed while answering questions on transgenderism and mass shooting (gun violence) during his usual question-and-answer session, and the moment of the execution was captured on camera and is all over social media.
Charlie Kirk was hit at the neck by a yet-to-be-identified fleeing person, who very likely fired the shot from a rooftop. The single shot brought the event to a chaotic end, with people fleeing in all directions.
Prior to the shooting, the suspected assassin was captured on video running across a rooftop and positioning himself before the bang rang out. Charlie was rushed to the hospital, where he would later die.
An elderly man, identified as George Zinn, was arrested at the ground for obstruction but was released, while the authorities in Utah continue with their investigation and manhunt.
His death sent shockwaves across the conservative and Christian population, including President Donald Trump, who called him a great and legendary youth leader.
However, many core left-wingers threw empathy to the wind. They celebrated his killing, saying he was a racist, homophobic, anti-abortionist, pro-gun violence, and an Israeli supporter who stood staunchly behind the continuous massacre of innocent people in Gaza.
Viral videos on X claimed to show staff inside TMZ’s newsroom celebrating the shooting, while an MSNBC news reporter feared that Trump might use his death as a justification for something else.
Though Charlie Kirk initially suspected that Israel orchestrated Hamas’s 8-hour-long attack on its own soil, on October 7, 2023, he would, however, realign his allegiance with the Jewish state.
His unwavering support for Israel, despite claims of starving Palestinians, continued till his death. Two weeks before his assassination, the MAGA activist had talked with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and was invited to visit his country.
Netanyahu, in a tribute, said he was murdered for speaking the truth and called him an “incredible human being”.
