WR Terry McLaurin Turns Back, Set To Part With Washington Commanders Amid Contract Dispute

A report by ESPN shows that a wide receiver for the Washington Commanders, Terry McLaurin, has formally asked his team to let him go on a day that coincides with the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game.

The wide receiver could no longer contain his frustration as he made a formal request to the team for a trade despite showing interest in staying with the club earlier.

The Pro Bowl star, in his speech before moving to the training camp, mentioned that he was “frustrated and disappointed” with the stalled progress and finally agreed that he would leave the team if there was no meaningful agreement.

At the moment, he had already missed mandatory minicamp and showed signs that there might be an extended holdout.

The deal between the team and Terry McLaurin will run through this year, but the deal’s $23.2 million average annual value has fallen below the top 15 wide receivers in the NFL.

The team, the Washington Commanders, seems to be more interested in contending around rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. We wait to see if they will give the expected attention to the demands made by McLaurin.
