The man who is recorded to have been the heaviest player to ever sign a contract in the NFL and recorded to weigh 464 pounds, Deshaun Watson, joined his new team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as an undrafted rookie, but will not play in any match until he loses weight.
The new Tampa Bay Buccaneers star has started training camp on the non-football illness list, with the team’s manager, Todd Bowles, mentioning that the only problem affecting his playing is his weight.
Bowles has revealed that the Buccaneers are working with Watson to help him become a healthier sportsman and get him fit for future games for the team.
The team has only mentioned that he will only play if he sheds his weight, but did not specify the specific weight target. The head coach also mentioned that the team’s new signee is committed to the process, as some progress has been made already.
Currently, the heaviest player has a long shot to make the 53-man roster; he is likely to have lost much weight before the next season, which will earn him the opportunity to prove his capacity on the field.
