Crystal Palace Draws Arsenal, Makes Trophy Winning Easy For Liverpool

Crystal Palace made a dramatic comeback to hold Arsenal to a 2-2 shocking draw in a heated game. This result leaves league leaders Liverpool a point from clinching the Premier League title.

Liverpool is on the verge of grabbing their 20th league title with 12 points if they match Manchester United’s record by beating Tottenham on Sunday.

While Arsenal are still in competition for the Premier League title, they also have their semi-final against PSG to plan for in the UEFA Champions League, and Crystal Palace in their FA Cup semi-final. Head Coach Mikel Arteta and Oliver Glasner caused multiple changes to the Gunners’ lineups.

Arsenal struck first in the third minute when Jakub Kiwior rose highest to nod in a pinpoint free-kick from Martin Ødegaard. But Palace hit back before the half-hour mark as Eberechi Eze finished off a well-worked set-piece, volleying in from Adam Wharton’s clever delivery.

Leandro Trossard put the Gunners back in front just before halftime with a composed finish into the bottom corner, set up by Jurrien Timber. Still, Palace wouldn’t go quietly. Jean-Philippe Mateta punished a sloppy pass from William Saliba in the second half, coolly chipping the ball over David Raya to level the match.

Arsenal fans were left anxious as both Ben White and Mikel Merino missed the match due to unspecified injuries. Arteta remained tight-lipped about their chances of playing in Tuesday’s crucial European tie, saying, “We’ll have to wait and see.”

One silver lining for Arsenal is Trossard’s red-hot form — the Belgian has now scored four goals in his last four league appearances, matching the tally from his previous 31 games.

However, this was Arsenal’s 13th draw of the season — a telling statistic in their fading title chase. With the Premier League seemingly out of reach, all eyes now turn to their European campaign.
