The skipper of Chelsea, Reece James, made an outstanding contribution to the team after his return from injury by scoring a late goal in a surprising 2-2 draw at home against Bournemouth.
The captain has faced a difficult moment this season after sustaining a hamstring injury but found the net upon his return with a low free-kick during the fifth minute of extra time, which put smiles on the faces of the fans once again.
The first goal in the match was scored by Cole Palmer after the 13th minute of play, giving Chelsea the early lead after displacing Mark Travers, Bournemouth’s goalkeeper.
The visitors fought back after halftime to secure a draw when Moises Caicedo fouled Antoine Semenyo in the box, causing a penalty that was brilliantly converted into a goal by Justin Kluivert.
Bournemouth almost received a red card for David Brooks’ off-the-ball foul but was only shown a yellow after a review by VAR. Semenyo scored a clever goal in the 68th minute to give Bournemouth the lead.
The Blues now sit in fifth place in the Premier League table with a total of 37 points, 10 points behind league leaders Liverpool, while Bournemouth sits in seventh position.
