Chicago police have proceeded with tracking down a ground containing young men and women after a disturbing robbery that happened in a CTA Red Line train earlier this month.
The robbery, which was committed on May 7 around Printer’s Row, when the attackers allegedly moved closer to a couple, brought out knife and also blasted them with pepper spray before stealing their property.
As of now, no arrests have been made, leaving many riders on edge. The brazen assault has reignited concerns about safety on Chicago’s public transit, especially after dark.
Detectives are combing through evidence and pleading with the public for tips that could help ID the attackers.
While the victims’ current conditions remain unknown, the shocking incident has transit advocates demanding better security on trains.
Police are reminding late-night commuters to stay alert—because right now, these suspects are still out there.
