Diogo Jota’s Goal Gives Liverpool 1-1 Draw Against Nottingham Forest

Diogo Jota came into the game against Nottingham Forest as a substitute to score a goal with his first touch that gave Liverpool a 1-1 draw. The host, Nottingham Forest, now sits in second place in the Premier League table.

The Portuguese forward scored through a header in Kostas Tsimikas’ corner just 22 seconds after the two players came in as substitutes, ruling out Chris Wood’s early goal.

Jota’s goal extends the league leaders’ unbeaten away streak in the league and maintains the six-point difference between both teams.

Nottingham Forest, which netted the first goal, hoped to win their seventh straight goal in the Premier League, but both Diogo Jota’s goals put an end to it. However, their hard-earned draw took them over Arsenal by sitting in second place in the league.

Forest was also unable to complete a league double against league leaders Liverpool; their performance drew them closer to winning the league title.

Goalkeeper Matz Sels helped the Forests through many saves, while Ola Aina also made a late scoreline clearance, denying Egypt talisman Mohamed Salah an opportunity to give Liverpool a double.
