Aston Villa continues to struggle after they were defeated 3-0 at Stamford Bridge by Chelsea, totaling their winless streak to eight games.

The defeat for Villa has reduced them to 12th position on the Premier League table and six points behind opponent Chelsea in third place.

Aston Villa did not find the game against the Chelsea side very easy, as Chelsea has only lost one game at home this season. Chelsea took advantage of a fresher team while nine of Aston Villa’s starters played in Europe midweek.

Aston Villa has also experienced bad outcomes in the Champions League, losing four out of their five games.

Among the players that played as starters were Ezri Konsa and Jaden Philogene, while those on the bench included Diego Carlos and Leon Bailey.

Chelsea scored the first goal in the seventh minute when Nicholas Jackson scored his eighth goal in the Premier League this season through an assist from Marc Cucurella.

Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa’s star, made some clear chances but could not convert them into a goal. Chelsea earned an indirect free kick through a controversial backpass decision against Pau Torres, but Emi Martinez saved the shot from Cole Palmer.

The Blues scored their second goal through an assist from Cole Palmer to Enzo Fernandez. Martinez was later substituted for Robin Olsen at halftime, but Palmer scored a late goal to seal Chelsea’s victory.
