Haitians in Springfield Are Hard Workers, No Drug Problem, Better Than Americans - Employer Says

In contrast to the trending news about Haitians eating pets in Springfield, Ohio, a business owner who has many of the immigrants working for him says they are very good at their jobs and do not have a drug problem.

Jamie McGregor, the CEO of McGregor Metal, says he has many migrants from Haiti working in his steel factory. The business owner says about 10% of his workforce representing 30 ecamployees are Haitians, and he wishes to have 30 more.

He testified on video that Haitian employees are diligent in their work, come to work every day, and they do not do drugs. “They will stay at their machine and achieve their numbers”, they are here to work”, McGregor says. “In general, that is a stark difference from what we are used to in our communities” he added.

He, however, acknowledged that the sudden arrival of numerous new immigrants might have its challenges but he sought to look at the opportunities it presents. More immigrants mean more access to cheaper labor and that is how the “industrial mid-west can regrow”.

“Some jobs need to be filled by people who are not originally from here”, he argued.

The population of people living in Springfield, Ohio, was said to have declined substantially until the last few years when it became a haven for Haitians who come in to make a living.

Though many photos and videos abound on the internet showing claims of Haitian migrants stealing and eating cats, dogs, geese, and other pets in the Springfield area of Ohio, no substantial report have been put forward and verified by the authorities.
