Even in real life, the Annabelle doll still creeps the hell out of people, just like it reportedly did to its first owners; however, the death of a known paranormal investigator who was in close contact with the feminine toy is one too many.
Dan Rivera, known for his Netflix documentary “28 Days Haunted,” died suddenly on Sunday while touring with the Anabelle doll in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
The 54-year-old was making his scheduled appearances for his “Devils on the Run” tour when he was found unresponsive in his hotel room. Medics were quickly called, but every effort to revive him failed, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
No cause of death has been given, and it is expected to be investigated.
Rivera, who is known for posting scary stories and events online, had just completed the tour’s appearance with his team at the Gettysburg location in Soldiers National Orphanage.
His death came shortly after Anabelle doll was said to have been missing from the protective glass it was kept inside, inside the Warrens’ Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut. However, the false viral claims were reported to have originated from Dan Rivera to promote the tour.
The Anabelle doll is said to be demonically possessed and capable of inflicting harm on its owners, and was portrayed in the movie “The Conjuring.” The terror from the doll in reality was reportedly so much that it was trapped inside a wooden case and glass with the help of a priest and stored in the museum, with a note that boldly warns against opening the glass.
