A viral video captured the sad moment a soldier says a brief last prayer before the drone pursuing him kills him.
The soldier might have been running from the drone and as it caught up with him, he made a fast prayer, falls to the ground, and assumed the frightened fetal position before the drone hit and exploded on him.
The Russia vs Ukraine war has claimed thousands of lives, with many quarters calling for a cease-fire, even as both sides release video footage of casualties inflicted on the other.
Watch the video below:
Both the Russian and Ukrainian sides have taken to media propaganda to prove that they are winning the war. Many videos abound on Twitter, now X, and many accounts have been created for the sole purpose of showing gory war videos of the ongoing conflict.
The Russian/Ukraine war has also been tagged as the war of drones because it is the first war in human history in which drones were actively being used in one-on-one combat to fish out and kill soldiers from the opposition.
One of the viral war videos making rounds on the internet showed a group of soldiers running across an open field when a drone hit one. The mortally injured soldier quickly beckons on his comrade to finish him off. He does the mercy-killing and shoots him in the head, probably saving him from a slow death or having to wait and watch the drone operator drop another explosive that will kill him.
Such footages serve as a grim reminder of what war really looks like, with many comments suggesting it be pulled down due to the emotional trauma loved ones go through having to see their father, uncle, brother, or friend begging for his life and dying in such a gruesome way.
It is most painful to think that some of the soldiers that are being recorded as they are being killed might have not willfully volunteered to fight or serve in the army but civilians forcefully conscribed into the military.
With Donald Trump’s assumption into office and his stance on ending the conflict after announcing that his administration will not send funds to Ukraine and holding off Putin from further escalation, the world might see an end to the war, surviving soldiers go home, and peace return to the turbulent region.
