FBI Takes Over Probe Into Fatal Shooting By ICE Officer In Minneapolis

The FBI has taken full control of the case launched into the brutal shooting by an ICE Officer of Renee Nicole Good that occurred in Minneapolis, bypassing the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), in its earlier report, mentioned that it was providing support before federal officials reversed course, stopped their access to witnesses and evidence and required it to withdraw.

Kristi Noem, the US Homeland Security Secretary, in her defense stated that the plan for the FBI to take over the case was due to jurisdiction and not exclusion, but Governor Tim Walz has insisted that his state, Minnesota, must be carried along for the sake of fairness.

The Trump administration, while trying to whitewash the officer, mentioned that his action was to protect himself as self-defense, accusing the victim of attempted vehicular assault, a defense that has been countered using video evidence.

The shooting, which occurred not too far from where George Floyd was killed, has raised tension in the manner that federal enforcement officers operate. The incident has led to public concerns across Minneapolis and closure of schools.
