
Fetty Wap, an American, has been granted early freedom from federal prison after almost three years that he was convicted of conspiracy to distribute drug, cocaine.
Wap, who was famous for his “Trap Queen” act and born Willie Junior Maxwell II, was convicted and sentenced to a correctional center in May 2023 to six years with five years of supervised release.
Fetty Wap was moved from the Federal Correctional Institution in Sandstone, Minnesota, on January 7, 2026, to community confinement while the Bureau of Prisons’ Philadelphia office supervised it.
In a statement released by the rapper’s publicist, it was confirmed that Fetty Wap is now in home confinement as his full release is expected to be made on November 8.
The talented rapper, who was arrested for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, was picked up by officials in October 2021 and was later indicted alongside five other people.
The rapper was first released on bond, but the release was invoked a year after he was arrested due to alleged violations. He then pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges.
