Napoli has returned to the first position in the Serie A table after a commanding 3-1 win against Atalanta, courtesy of a double from David Neres.
Napoli now sits at the top with 25 points, leading Inter Milan, Bologna, and Roma on 24 points, as the league awaits matches on Sunday to determine if Napoli will maintain the top position for long.
David Neres’s first goal of the match came in at 17 minutes after the game commenced, while he netted his second at 38 minutes before the third goal was scored through a header at halftime by Nao Lang.
As the second half began, Atalanta scored a goal through Gianluca Scamacca but were not so lucky to equalise despite the pressure they invested. Atalanta sits in 13th position with only 13 points.
Bologna moved on with a strong performance, snatching a 3-0 win at Udinese’s home. Tommaso Pobega netted a brace in a short moment, while the last goal was scored late by Federico Bernardeschi.
In another match, Cagliari and Genoa pulled a tough 3-3 tie, while Fiorentina held Juventus to a 1-1 draw courtesy of a fine equaliser by Rolando Mandragora.
