Treasury Staff Received Cautions As White House East Wing Demolition Starts

All the employees of the Treasury department have received a warning against taking pictures and videos of the demolition within the White House from nearby constructions, as those against the idea stated that collapsing the East Wing can be termed very sad and grotesque.

The spokesperson of the Treasury Department, addressing The Wall Street Journal, stated that distributing pictures of the ongoing demolition could reveal sensitive information, including structural specs and security features.

Demolition has started on the $250 million privately funded ballroom project of President Donald Trump, with images that reveal heavy machinery tearing down parts of the East Wing facade. The construction began on Monday.

The president, in his statement, mentioned that the new ballroom under construction would be very fun, also stating that there will be a connection between the place and the major residence through a “knockout panel” in the East Room.

The place under construction, the East Wing, was constructed in 1902 and expanded 40 years later, and it is known to have the office of the First Lady and other units in it.

The new ballroom will sit on a span of 90,000 square feet and contain 650 seats when it is completed, which will be more than three times the current East Room’s 200-seat capacity.
