Manchester City’s forward Erling Haaland scored two goals to help his side secure a 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium against Everton, moving to second in the Premier League table above Liverpool. The two goals came in the second half.
The Norwegian professional striker struck into action in the second half after a deadlock first half. He headed into Everton’s net a fine cross from Nico O’Reilly before he slowly fired in the second goal from a deflected cutback from Savinho just five minutes after the first goal was recorded.
These goals have shown Haaland consistently since the new season started, making it his 23rd goal from 13 games for his country and City.
Everton, under David Moyes as manager, got off to a fine start with Iliman Ndiaye causing disruptions to Manchester City’s defence and forcing the latter’s goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, to make a fine save. However, they could not convert any of the chances into a goal.
Jake O’Brien almost had an own goal to his name, but a save for his header that hit the goalpost, while Jordan Pickford denied a double attempt from City’s star Savinho before the end of the first half.
A greater dominance by Manchester City did not go to waste as Haaland delivered a spectacular and brilliant finish to secure three points for the English giant.
