Arsenal stunned everyone with an incredible 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid, scoring four goals in just 14 minutes and keeping their perfect start in the Champions League.
The first half was pretty tight, with Eberechi Eze’s shot hitting the bar after a deflection and Julian Alvarez nearly catching David Raya off guard. But things really kicked into gear after the break.
Gabriel Magalhaes put Arsenal ahead in the 57th minute with a strong header from Declan Rice’s perfect free kick. That goal seemed to wake up the Gunners, and they went on a scoring spree.
Martinelli doubled the lead with a beautiful curling shot after a strong run by Myles Lewis-Skelly. Viktor Gyokeres finally got on the scoresheet, ending a seven-game goal drought by bundling in Arsenal’s third. Just a few minutes later, he added another from Gabriel’s knockdown.
This commanding win means Arsenal have now won all three group matches without letting in a single goal, which automatically puts them among the early favourites in the tournament.
