AFC Bournemouth climbed to second place in the Premier League after a confident 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium. It wasn’t the easiest start for Forest’s new boss, Sean Dyche, who unfortunately saw his first league game end in a loss.
Bournemouth snatched the lead in the 25th minute after the commencement of the game when Marcus Tavernier fired a brilliant goal straight from a corner kick, something no one had managed in the Premier League this season until then.
Bournemouth mostly kept the ball and controlled the game, making it tough for Forest to find their rhythm.
Right before halftime, young Eli Kroupi put them further ahead with a fantastic shot from outside the box. That was his third goal in just three games, and his confident strike really showed how much he’s been shining recently. It’s clear he’s on a real hot streak right now.
Even after the break, Forest didn’t give up, trying to push forward. But Bournemouth’s defenders held their ground and kept everything out.
Thanks to this win, Bournemouth climbed above Manchester City, who had lost to Aston Villa, and now sits in second place with 18 points.
Meanwhile, Forest’s struggles just keep growing. They’re stuck near the bottom, with only five points after nine matches.
