Ipswich Town, despite its standing on the Premier League table, fired back to earn a 2-2 tie against Everton on Saturday in the penultimate game for Everton at Goodison Park, their home since 1892.

Everton is prepared to move to another ground, Bramley-Moore Dock, after the end of this season, making the match their final Saturday’s game at their popular stadium, a tradition they started 48,293 days ago with a 6-0 victory in 1893 against Preston.

The game witnessed a joyful moment as Graeme Sharp and Peter Reid, who are Everton legends, joined supporters to celebrate the beautiful moment.

The celebratory mood was joined by the early victory recorded by Everton against Ipswich Town, with goals from Beto and Dwight McNeil in the ninth minute of the game to put Everton 2-0 up against Ipswich.

Despite the joyful moment by Everton’s fans and considering that they are away, Ipswich did not give up as they fired into Everton’s net before the end of the first half through a goal from Julio Enciso. Everton played well to secure a third goal; Ipswich was lucky to fire another goal on the counter with a header from George Hirst to equalise the game.

The result has helped Everton to overtake Manchester United, as they now sit 14th in the Premier League table while Ipswich stays in 18th in the relegation zone.
