
Borussia Dortmund could not go away with three points after they were forced to share 1-1 against Lille on the knowledge round playoff first leg clash on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League.
Dortmund had the first goal of the night after Karim Adeyemi netted a goal in the 22nd minute, finishing well to give his team an early lead at Signal Iduna Park.
Borussia Dortmund took possession of the match during the first half and went into the break with a lucky advantage.
The French side Lille did not give up efforts as they fought to make it a draw in the second half after Hákon Haraldsson, who plays midfield for Iceland,netted the equalizer in the 68th by successfully converting a fine pass from Jonathan David, shutting the joy of the home crowd who had gone into jubilation from the first half.
Emre Can, who stars for Borussia Dortmund, was shown a yellow card in the 61st minute, while Pascal Groß was booked before the end of the match.
While the two teams did well to emerge winners it was difficult for neither of the team could take home a whole three points, while the two teams will need to put more effort to avoid been knocked out in their second leg.
