Before his inauguration, Donald Trump outlined a few lines of orders he would first carry out when he became president. While he was making promises to the American people, a few citizens wondered if he did not realize he was putting pressure on himself in the name of serving America. He talked about signing a lot of executive orders in one day.
However, Trump brushed every concern off, reiterating his duty to serve the American people from his first day in office.
One of the executive orders was to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, according to the incoming press secretary Karoline Leavitt on social media.
After the president signs the order, the secretary of the Department of Interior will officially change the name to “Gulf of America” for use on official maps.
Making it a priority, Trump wanted to end the trade imbalance between the United States and Mexico through the Gulf and address the concerns of destructive hard drugs coming into the states. He so wanted to make a statement concerning the issues of illegal immigration at the Southern border. But who knows why the change of names should be so important?
Alongside the change of name of the Gulf of Mexico, Trump would also sign an executive order, changing the name of Mount Denali, which was given by the Alaskan natives to Mount McKinley.
Mount Denali was not only given by the Alaskan natives; it was also renamed in 2015 when former President Barack Obama was in office.
Another executive order signed by the 47th President of the United States would see the great country withdraw from the World Health Organization. Trump had issues with the global health commission when the coronavirus pandemic rocked the United States and nothing was done about it.
