Bundesliga club Bayern Munich on Sunday revealed that it was not sure if the team’s striker Harry Kane will be featuring in next Tuesday’s German Cup game against title holders Bayer Leverkusen due to a thigh injury that he sustained recently.
England’s forward Kane, who has helped the team score many goals that continue to push the club forward, was substituted in the first half of Bayern Munich’s 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
The team stated that “Kane suffered a small muscle tear in the back of his right thigh,” Bayern said in a statement. “Which means Bayern will have to do without Kane for the time being.”
Vincent Company, a Belgian professional football manager who is also the head coach of the club, painfully said that the striker may likely not feature in the next game against Bayer Leverkusen.
Kompany revealed after the injury that he sustained against Dortmund that “obviously, it will be tight for Tuesday. I don’t know many players who can recover that quickly”.
According to reports, the England captain Kane would be sidelined for at least two weeks. Bundesliga leaders Bayern host Heidenheim on Saturday.
