Red Bull Christian Horner has been fired after serving as the team principal for two decades, as the team was not doing too well with him as their leader anymore.
According to the team, their track problems have eaten so deeply that it has created a tense atmosphere within their track stars and staff of Red Bull. They may also be losing their star driver Max Verstappen.
Horner took the reins of leading the team back in 2005 and led the F1 team to the top in the 2010s and the last decades. But the team’s form has declined this year and the franchise directors think their mindset has a big part to play.
Max Verstappen may also be looking to pitch his tent with another team, especially after the public falling out between his father and Horner.
The estranged team principal has had problems recently. Just last year, he came under scrutiny, after he was accused of sexual harassment by another Red Bull employee.
On track, Chris had a great run with the Red Bulls. He gave them all their 124 Grand Prix victories and led them to win 8 drivers’ championships and 6 constructors’ championships.
Oliver Mintzlaff, a senior spokesperson in the franchise congratulated Horner and wished him the best.
“With his tireless commitment, experience, expertise and innovative thinking, he has been instrumental in establishing Red Bull Racing as one of the most successful and attractive teams in Formula 1. Thank you for everything, Christian, and you will forever remain an important part of our team history,” he said.
