Lionel Messi had returned back to training in PSG only to be greeted first by a Guard of Honour Award from his team.

After taking a well-deserved time off with his family in Argentina following his victory in the World Cup in Qatar, in 2022, Lionel Messi was given a hero’s welcome upon his return at PSG’s training ground at the Camp des Loges on Wednesday morning.

Messi finished the won the World Cup for Argentina with a total of seven goals in seven appearances and three assists. In the final match against France, he scored 2 goals.

Hopefully, his return will act as a booster for the club following their abysmal performance and defeat in Ligue 1 on New Year’s Day when they lost 3-1 to Lens – their first defeat in the league this season.

As his contract with PSG draws to a close, there are talks if he would renew the deal or call it quits.

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Messi had made a verbal pact with PSG chiefs and communicated his willingness to sign a new contract.

A further agreement will then be made on the length of the new contract, wages and bonuses, as well as other clauses.

However, there are talks that Lionel Messi might go back to his long-time club – Barcelonia.
