Video: Pastor Odumeje “Indaboski” Slapped And Beaten During Church Demolition

Chukwuemeka Odumeje, also known as “Indaboski Bahose,” is a controversial pastor who is based in Onitsha, Anambra State. On Thursday, security guards who were present when his church was demolished beat him up.

The pastor, sometimes referred to as “Indaboski Bahose” or “Liquid Metal,” was assaulted while debating the authorities.

His church, Grace And Power Prophetic Ministry, Onitsha, was scheduled for demolition by the Anambra government in March because it was built on a drainage channel.

A day after being sworn in, Governor Chukwuma Soludo visited the expansive slum of Okpoko in Onitsha and promised to clean up the area by making sure the drainages are clear.

The community’s church, owned by Odumeje, was identified as one of the residences preventing water flow.

According to reports, the controversial prophet tried to stop the authorities from tearing down his church, infuriating the security guards who were with the demolition crew.

Odumeje was shown being pushed around by security personnel, including police officers and members of the vigilantes’ service, in a video that is currently trending online.

He received many slaps and was forbidden from entering the demolition zone.

However, the video received a mixed response, with many criticizing the way the cleric was treated.

Some observers, however, claimed that it was appropriate for him because he had previously attacked and damaged hallowed shrines.

Videos of Odumeje’s contentious speeches and peculiar healing techniques brought him to public attention.

He frequently mimics heavyweight wrestlers by slapping his sick members to heal them.

The cleric also asserts that he possesses a variety of untapped abilities.

Christian Aburime, the governor of Anambra State’s chief press secretary, commented on the demolition and maintained there was no evil intent.

He said that everyone whose buildings were built over drainage had received notification from the authorities.

He said, “Following the expiration of the more than two weeks notice beginning from April 2022 served on developers and building owners who built several illegal structures along the waterway in Fegge and environs within Onitsha, Anambra state government has begun demolition of such structures.

“The exercise which is being carried out by a joint government task force, commenced the exercise from Bida Road by Modebe Avenue, Fegge Onitsha. The affected buildings include Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministries, shops and other perimeter fences.

“The structures were marked since April, 2022 and all developers and building owners were served notice to remove such illegal structures.”
