A call for women not to be in law enforcement and handling guns was renewed after recently released police bodycam footage showed the moment a man wrestled a gun out of the hands of a female officer and tried to get away in her car, before he was shot and killed by a male officer.
The incident happened on January 24 when Fountain Valley police responded to a call about a man who was trying to break into a car parked outside Kazuo Masuda Middle School, at around the 17400 block of Los Jardines West, California.
The suspect, 26-year-old Osean McClintock, was found by two officers, but before they could effect an arrest, he took to his heels. Both officers (male and female) started the chase, but just when the male officer was about to call it off, he heard his partner calling for help.
The female officer’s bodycam recorded the suspect walking up to her while she was still seated in her police car and grabbing her gun, which she had pointed at him.
They struggled with the weapon while the man screamed, “You’re saved in Jesus name”! The officer did not shoot, even though the gun was pointed at the suspect.
“He has my gun”! “He has my gun”! She muttered after losing her firearm to the suspect. “Please don’t shoot me”! She begs for her life as she scampers and runs away.
Her companion arrived on the scene and ordered him to put the weapon down. He refuses and tries to get away once more in the female officer’s cruiser, but was gunned down inside the driver’s seat.

McClintock’s sister, Seajay, said her brother might have been disoriented at that time because of a blood disorder that makes him bleed in the brain. She claimed he had never hurt anybody in his life and would not have hurt the cop, and that he only wanted to leave the scene because he was scared.
Furthermore, she blamed the police for putting themselves in the dangerous position and also blamed them for putting the public at risk and ultimately killing her brother.
However, the bodycam video left people saying once again that women should not be part of the armed forces. She should be in the office and not on the field, MrSantosNY said. Collin Rugg said she should be handling staplers, while Unlimited L’s said she should be fired immediately for humiliating herself and endangering the public.
