Many have heard the word “ajitu” or “aditu”, usually said in videos of suspected yahoo boys, where they show off their wealth & exotic cars alongside charms, also known as juju.
However, the question is what does the word “Ajitu” or “Aditu” mean? From research, it is a Yoruba word that literally means “Mystery”.
So in essence, those boys are simply saying their source of wealth is a mystery!
In a viral video, two boys commonly referred to as Yahoo boys in Nigeria, are seen showing off diabolical charms (voodoo) with claims that it gave them the wealth they were flaunting. Watch below:
“Baba show me way…shey if we show you way, you go fit do am”? One of the boys in the video says before turning the camera to show the charms and calabashes that were allegedly their source of wealth – and the other shouts ajitu!
According to the Yahoo boiz, doing charms and probably scamming was their way of hustling.
While still showing off his gold chain, the “yahoo boy” said “Hushpuppi jaye”, which literally means “Hushpuppi enjoy life”! However, he sounded a note of warning – if you run too fast, you go (will) die young – probably referring to the miserable end of the popular Nigerian and Dubia-based fraudster who was arrested and imprisoned together with his accomplice Woodberry.
