10 Arrested In Connection With Texas Detention Shooting

10 people have been arrested in connection with a shooting outside a Texas immigration detention centre. They have been charged with attempted murder. This is a strong rejection of Trump’s plan to send immigrants from the United States back to where they came from.

A police officer was shot in the neck during the incident and was rushed to the hospital. He was treated and released according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting was an opposition response to the mass arrests and deportations being carried out by federal agents.

The suspected shooters were dressed in black, blowing up fireworks and destroying cars at the beginning to get the law enforcement officers out.

They also went ahead to write derogatory names about the federal officers.

Two officers came out to try to calm the group, but things only escalated, and one of the officers got shot.

Nancy Larson, acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas, said the perpetrators shot 20-30 rounds at the officers who were trying to de-escalate the situation.

The group fled as armed officers got on the ground and defended themselves. However, the authorities caught some of them and recovered ammunition, showing that they came prepared.

The assailants have been charged with three counts each of attempted murder and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
