Twitter has taken down the last part of Buhari’s tweet where he threatened a second civil war on those clamoring to bring down his administration by perpetuating criminal attacks on national infrastructure.
The tweet received a lot of backlash from Nigerians who faulted it, saying Buhari is sympathetic to the killings and destruction from Fulani Herdsmen, as he has never come out with such force against them. Others saw the Tweet as a taunt to the Igbos, reminding them of what Nigeria did to them during the Nigerian Civil War.
Here is the Tweet from Buhari yesterday which was taken down by Twitter;
“Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”
Twitter took Buhari’s tweet as it violated Twitter rules on instigation of violence.
