Poisonous Food seeds, fertilizers, looted in Ekiti as hoarded Covid-19 palliatives

The Ekiti state government just announced that ADP warehouse and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) stores, containing chemically treated seedlings meant for planting were looted by hoodlums, as well as other Nigerians, thinking they were the same as other hoarded Covid-19 palliative food items found in other states.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr Olabode Adetoyi said the items were highly poisonous and not fit for consumption. He also added that NPK fertilizers were also looted. He appealed to the public not to consume them. Also, people should be careful of what and where they buy food items from.

He added that soldiers were drafted to the scene when they got the news of the looting, but unfortunately,  most of the items were already looted.
