There is ongoing fighting within Lagos Island. The violence is reported to be between rival cult groups fighting for supremacy in the area.
The fighting which involves shooting and vandalism has been ongoing for years, without adequate police intervention. An unconfirmed number of persons have reportedly been killed in the violence.
