
Manchester City snatched a narrow 1-0 win courtesy of Erling Haaland in a crucial game to take top spot in the Premier League from Arsenal. City won against Burnley, who needed a win to avoid relegation if they were to win their subsequent games.
Manchester City’s win came early after Erling Haaland brilliantly and gently converted an assist from Jérémy Doku into a goal lifting the ball against Martin Dúbravka, Burnley’s goalkeeper.
Martin Dúbravka’s effort saved Burnley from conceding many goals to City’s multiple attackers, who dominated the game and created numerous opportunities.
Burnley almost scored goals through Quilindschy Hartman and Zian Flemming but their efforts yielded no results.
City continued to pressure the home side in the second half behalf but all their efforts recorded no goal with a chance from Haaland hitting the post.
The win put Manchester City in a position to clinch the Premier League title after recording the same 70 points as Arsenal but taking over from the latter.
While, the very poor display by Burnley this season with a record of one win in 25 Premier League games as returned the team to the Championship.
