YouTube, in its latest update, confirmed that it has provided a solution to the disruption that affected its apps and website after millions of users across the globe reported that they had issues accessing the platform for almost 60 minutes on Thursday morning.
Downdetector, a page that tracks and reports service disruptions, stated the outage with the YouTube platforms, including YouTube TV, YouTube, and YouTube Music, started before 7 in the morning in East Asia (23:00 GMT Wednesday).
The access disruptions were widely experienced by users across continents, including North America, Asia, and Europe, especially in the United States.
The countries where a lot of users also complained are the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Japan. According to reports of outages recorded by users, as seen by Downdetector, revealed that error submissions reported in the United States reached 393,038 by 7:57 am before they started declining.
YouTube TV and YouTube Music outages were not up to 5,000 reports in the United States during the same time that other YouTube platforms were down.
Till the time of filing this report, the reason for the global outage has not been stated by YouTube, but it confirmed that the network services have been restored.
