Kiefer Sutherland, an Emmy-winning movie star, was arrested early Monday after he allegedly had an altercation with a ride-share driver in the Hollywood area, as mentioned by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Sutherland, who is already 59 years old, was arrested not long after midnight when officials responded to a report of an assault at a location closer to the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.
Officers stated in their release that the incident happened after the actor entered the ride-share vehicle, where he was accused of assaulting the person behind the steering wheel.
While the driver’s status was said not to have required any medical need, Sutherland was picked up on suspicion of making felony criminal threats, as confirmed by the LAPD.
As seen on jail records, it showed that the actor was let out of custody a few hours later after posting a $50,000 bond. He should be appearing in court for a first hearing on February 2nd.
The talented actor, who is a British-born Canadian, is popular for playing the role of Jack Bauer on “24,” a television series that was the reason he bagged both a Golden Globe and an Emmy award.
Part of the movies that Kiefer Sutherland featured in are “Flatliners,” “Stand by Me,” “A Few Good Men,” and “The Lost Boys.”
